What’s New in WPForms – Major Highlights From the Previous Year
Despite being one of the most popular and highly-rated WordPress plugins, we’re never complacent. We listen to your feedback, innovate, and keep on improving.
Here’s a quick overview of some of the coolest updates we’ve introduced since our last anniversary:
New Templates and Refreshed Form Builder
Since WPForms was born, our top priority has been to make this the most user-friendly form builder plugin on the WordPress market.
We’ve made small changes to the form builder visual interface over the years. And last year, we gave it an even cleaner, uncluttered, and more polished look with a refreshed form builder and new templates.
In the refresh, we moved the field settings to a more accessible location on the left-hand side. This means no going back and forth to different screens.
You can simply change field options and settings on the go using the General, Advanced, and Smart Logic tabs.
Plus, users previously had to embed their form to a page before being able to preview it. But the refreshed WPForms user interface now has a Preview button that allows you to instantly see what the form will look like.
We’ve also added a library of 300+ form templates – and it’s still growing!
The template library is now available right in the plugin.
With these refinements, we’re confident that you’ll find building WordPress forms easier than ever before.
Square Addon
Square payments have become extremely popular with small business owners and independent website owners. We boosted our ever-increasing list of supported payment gateways with the Square addon.
Square is one of the simplest ways for businesses to accept payments. So if you’re selling through your WordPress site, the WPForms Square addon has got you covered!
HubSpot Addon
The WPForms Elite plan now integrates with one of the most popular CRM platforms for small businesses: HubSpot.
The HubSpot addon allows you to connect your WPForms with your HubSpot account and easily send leads captured from your WordPress forms to your HubSpot CRM.
The WPForms HubSpot addon is perfect if you’re using HubSpot to manage your customers, but your main lead generation and subscription tool is WPForms on your WordPress site.
Form Revisions and Form Trash
Form Revisions and Form Trash are brand new to WPForms, but our customers are loving both already!
You no longer have to worry about making mistakes, or deleting forms by mistake. WPForms now saves the history of your form changes as you work.
This way, if something accidentally breaks when you’re setting up a form, you can simply roll back to a previous version at any time.
Save your precious time and forget about having to create a new form from scratch if anything goes wrong!
We’ve also now added a Form Trash area. This adds a safeguard so that you can restore a deleted form before it’s gone for good.
If you want to remove a form entirely from your site, you can go into the Form Trash and delete it permanently.
Entry Preview
To combat form abandonment, we added a new Entry Preview field to the form builder. With this, you can let your users preview their entry before pressing the submit button.
Entry previews are simple but extremely effective at reducing mistakes during submission. If there’s no error, then users can simply proceed to confirm the submission, safe in the knowledge that the entry looks the way they wanted.
We think you can easily ensure accurate entries by including a simple Entry Preview field into your forms.
Save and Resume
The ability to save a partial entry and return to it at a later time is incredibly valuable when you have a long and complex form.
Our new Save and Resume addon allows you to improve your surveys and forms with a simple resume option.
Users are more likely to convert and abandon your forms less if they are given a chance to save their progress. This feature affords outstanding flexibility to your visitors, and that’s always a good thing!
Improved User Registration Addon
We’ve also massively improved our highly popular User Registration addon, which is one of our most popular addons so far in 2022.
You can now easily create a password reset form to allow your users to access their accounts again if they’ve forgotten their password.
What’s more, we also added 3 new templates that are bundled with this addon:
- User Registration Form
- User Login Form
- User Password Reset Form
We wanted to give you the flexibility to create registration and login forms quickly on your site. And with these new templates, we’re sure you’ll be able to build registration forms faster than ever before.
Uncanny Automator Addon
Uncanny Automator is one of the best tools to automate your WordPress site and save time.
Last year we added Uncanny Automator integration, which allows you to create automated workflows between WPForms and hundreds of other apps.
With the WPForms Uncanny Automator integration, you can focus more on your business goals and let automation share your administrative workload.
Updated Form Locker Addon
This past year, we revisited our Form Locker addon, made some design improvements, and also expanded support for more verification methods.
You can now use age verification as well as email verification apart from the standard password verification for form access.
These verification options give you a lot of flexibility and prevent unauthorized users from gaining access to your locked forms.
Rich Text Field
This is another feature that we received tons of requests for. We’re super pleased that WPForms is now bundled with a Rich Text field right out of the box.
Our Rich Text field is so advanced, it allows your visitors to format their entries and add images. Since it works just like the WordPress editor, anyone who fills out your forms will feel right at home.
Delete Uploaded Files
Previously, WPForms didn’t allow deleting file attachments from entry management. But we heard your request and we’re glad that WPForms now lets you delete files uploaded by users.
We hope you’ll find this feature useful, especially when the same files are uploaded multiple times in a single entry.
What’s Next for WPForms?
So that’s our 6th birthday roundup. And wow – time flies.
We made many improvements to existing features and added various new features in the past year.
But the work doesn’t stop. Our team is never short of innovative ideas, and we continually review your feedback to improve and grow.
