This isn’t just another feature update. We’ve completely reimagined file security to give you total control over who can access uploaded files in your form entries. The best part? It’s available to ALL WPForms users, regardless of license level.
Imagine being able to collect all the important files you need—applications, contracts, personal IDs—knowing they’re locked down tight and only accessible to the people you want to have access.
Here’s what makes File Upload Restrictions revolutionary:
• Role-Based Access Control: Restrict file access to specific WordPress roles (admins, editors, or subscribers)
• User-Level Permissions: Grant access to individual user accounts for granular control
• Password Protection: Secure sensitive files behind custom passwords

Security at Its Simplest
Like all new features at WPForms, we made this one stupid simple. Let me walk you through it.
Add the File Upload field to your form and Enable File Access Restrictions in the Advanced tab.
Choose who can access the uploaded files based on WordPress user groups or individual users.
For added security, Enable Password Protection.
That’s it! With this simple field setting, you can rest easy knowing that those files are only in the hands you want them to be.
