Introducing the New WPForms Weekly Email Summary: Your Forms Now Report to You

Quick question: how many people filled out a form on your website last week?

If the honest answer is “I’d have to log in and check,” you are in good company. For most site owners, the forms only speak up when something goes wrong.

But now, your forms send the report. You just read it.

Say Hello to the New WPForms Weekly Email Summary!

Today, I’m thrilled to announce that’ we’ve completely rebuilt the WPForms Weekly Email Summary, to give you an overview of your form analytics at a glance. It’s automatically delivered to your inbox every Monday, shipping in WPForms v2.0.3!

It is built into WPForms itself, so there is nothing to install, and it comes with every plan, including the free version.

Everything the New Weekly Email Summary Can Do For You

Every Monday, WPForms sends a summary of the past week to your site’s admin email, with nothing to set up.

Now it has a lot more to say, and it tells you what to look at before you open a single tab:

  • Your Week at a Glance: Stat tiles show entries, views, and spam blocked, each with the change from the week before.
Form analytics at a glance
  • Every Form on Its Own Row: A breakdown table lists each form with its entries and trend, its views, and on Pro and Elite plans its conversion rate, so you can see which form did the work.
Breakdown of form performance
  • The One Thing Worth Knowing: When your site earns it, the headline changes: your contact form just had its best week yet, or you just hit 100 entries. One highlight at a time, chosen by priority.

  • A Heads-Up When a Form Goes Quiet: If a form that collected entries every week drops to zero, the summary says so at the top, with a Check Your Form button that opens it.
Alerts to warn you of issues with your forms
  • Payments, Sales, and Refunds Too: Once a connected payment gateway has taken a payment, a second row of tiles tracks payments, sales, and refunds, and the table gains a Payments column.

  • One Click Back Into WPForms: A View Full Analytics button on Pro and Elite, a View Your Dashboard button on every other plan, and a tip card underneath.

On WPForms Lite, the summary shows your views, your Entry Backups when Lite Connect is on, and every form on its own row.

Also New: An Other Choice for the Checkboxes Field

Every checkbox list is a guess at what people will say. “How did you hear about us?” has a dozen boxes, and the real answer is a local Facebook group you have never heard of.

Now the Checkboxes field takes that answer too, with a single setting:

  • The Answer That Isn’t on Your List: An Other choice appears at the end of the list, and a text box opens the moment someone ticks it.
Checkboxes "other" field
  • Stored With the Choice It Belongs To: The entry reads “Other: heard it on a podcast” right next to the boxes they ticked.
How the other field appears at the backend
  • One Column in Every Export: CSV and Excel exports keep the Other answer in the same column as the rest of the field, so nothing needs reconciling.

  • Counted in Your Survey Results: Surveys & Polls reports include the answers typed into the Other choice, so the unlisted answer counts with the listed ones.
"other" option is counted in survey results
  • Works With the Addons You Already Use: The Other choice is supported in Calculations, Conversational Forms, Save and Resume, and Surveys & Polls.

Add an Other Choice to Any Checkbox List in Three Clicks

Make sure you are running the latest version of WPForms, then follow along.

Step 1: Open the Form With Your Checkbox List

Open the form in the builder, or build a new one, and click its Checkboxes field.

Step 2: Switch On Add Other Choice

In the field’s General tab, turn on Add Other Choice. Set the Placeholder Text and pick a Field Size. (Dynamic Choices and the Other choice do not combine.)

Activate Other Choice

Step 3: Read the Answer Right Next to the Boxes They Ticked

Save and publish. The next person who ticks the Other choice types their answer, and it arrives in the entry, the export, and the survey report as “Other: their words.”
