Downgrading Your WPForms License
If you don’t need the features in your current license, you can move to a lower license level and keep using WPForms.
To get started, contact our support team and tell us which license level you’d like to move to. Our team will check how your subscription is billed and let you know which option applies to you.
For most subscriptions, our team downgrades your license for you. You don’t need to cancel or buy a new license. Here’s what happens after the downgrade:
- Right away: Your license moves to the new level, and its site limit drops to match.
- License key: Your license key stays the same.
- Expiration date: Your expiration date doesn’t change.
- Next renewal: You pay the lower price starting at your next renewal.
Note: If you pay with PayPal, our team can’t change your license level directly. Instead, you’ll need to cancel your existing license. After this, you can buy a new license at a lower level.
Downgrading doesn’t refund any part of your current billing period. However, if you upgraded to a higher-level license in the last 14 days, you can request a refund for the upgrade. When you reach out, let us know that you’re looking to downgrade.

Understanding the Changes
By choosing a lower license level, you’ll no longer be able to use any addons that aren’t included in your new license.
For example, if you have a Pro license, you can access the AWeber addon within the Marketing tab in the WPForms Form Builder.
However, if you downgrade your WPForms license from Pro to Basic, you won’t be able to use the AWeber addon, even if it’s already activated on your site.
A popup will notify you if you attempt to use any unsupported addons.
Any features limited to the license you are downgrading from will be disabled upon downgrading. Before you downgrade, we highly recommend checking which features will be incompatible.
Also, be sure to check that your forms are not using features that are only available with a higher license level. An excellent way to check for supported features is to look at our license comparison table.
Lower license levels also allow fewer sites. Before you downgrade, check how many sites currently use your license.
