Would you like to collect numeric information in your forms while ensuring users can only enter numbers? The Numbers field in WPForms restricts input to numeric values only, making it perfect for gathering quantitative data and performing calculations.
This tutorial will show you how to use the Numbers field in WPForms.
Before you jump in, you’ll first need to make sure WPForms is installed and activated on your WordPress site and that you’ve verified your license. Then you can create a new form or edit an existing one to access the form builder.
Adding a Numbers Field to Your Form
After opening the form builder, look under Standard Fields to find the Numbers field option. Simply click on it or drag and drop it into the preview area to add it to your form.

Once you’ve added the field to your form, click on it in the preview area to open its Field Options panel.
Configuring Numbers Field Options
In the Numbers field options, you can customize its label and description. The Label will default to “Numbers,” but you can change this to match your needs, such as “Age,” “Quantity,” or “Total Hours.”
The Description field allows you to provide additional instructions to your users about what numbers they should enter.

Configuring Numbers Field Advanced Options
Click on the Advanced tab in the Field Options panel to access additional settings for your Numbers field.

Field Size
By default, the Field Size is set to Medium. However, you can change your field’s length to Small or Large using the dropdown menu.

Range
The Range option allows you to set minimum and maximum values that users can enter in your Numbers field. For instance, you might want to restrict age entries to be at least 18 or limit product quantities to no more than 100.
Simply enter your desired minimum value in the left field and maximum value in the right field to establish these boundaries.

Default Value
Set a Default Value to pre-fill the field when your form loads. For example, if you’re creating a donation form, you might set the default amount to 25 to provide users with a suggested donation value, or in a product order form, you might set it to 1 as the default quantity.

That’s it! You now know how to add and customize a Numbers field in your WPForms forms.
