Most design disputes start with something nobody wrote down: how many revisions, when the final files arrive, or whether the client can put the logo on merchandise. A graphic design release form settles those points before you open your design software, and gets the client’s signature and deposit at the same time.
Using the Graphic Design Release Form Template
It works as a graphic design contract, a logo design agreement, or a freelance design agreement for branding, web, print, and packaging jobs. Here’s how it works:
- Client Information: The client gives their company name, a contact person, a phone number, and an email address, so you know who approves the work.
- Project Details: The client describes the project, picks the deliverables they need (from a logo or brand identity to social graphics and packaging), adds scope and requirements, selects where the design will be used, and sets an ideal deadline.
- Design Agreement: Your terms sit in an editable text block that covers the fee, revisions, ownership and usage after full payment, portfolio use, confidentiality, client-supplied materials, and cancellation. The client ticks a box to agree.
- Signatures and Deposit: The client signs and dates the form, then pays your project deposit by card through Stripe. There’s also an optional signature field for the designer.
You’ll get an email with each signed brief, and the client gets a copy. Add the PDF addon if you want a signed PDF for your records, and change the deliverables, usage list, and deposit to fit how you price work. Copyright and contract rules vary by country, so have your terms reviewed for your area before you use them.
