Under the GDPR and UK GDPR, letting someone store your message so they can reply isn’t the same as agreeing to their newsletter. If your contact form treats them as one, every person who writes to you ends up on your list without asking.
This Kit GDPR Form Template keeps the two apart. Visitors send their name, email, and message, and tick a required box agreeing that you can store their details to reply. A second, optional box asks for newsletter consent in plain words and is never pre-ticked.
How the Kit GDPR Form Template Works
Only people who tick the newsletter consent box are subscribed through the WPForms Kit addon (Kit was formerly ConvertKit). Conditional logic on the connection handles that. You can tag them, for example “gdpr-consent”, and save the exact consent wording they agreed to in a Kit custom field. Kit already records when they subscribed, so you have a note of what they agreed to and when.
It’s a fit for creators, coaches, and small businesses with readers in Europe or the UK who need a GDPR contact form, a double consent form, or a separate marketing consent checkbox for Kit.
You’ll get an email for each message that you can reply to directly, and the sender gets a copy. The GDPR agreement field appears once GDPR Enhancements is on in your WPForms settings.
This template helps you ask for and record consent. It doesn’t make your site compliant by itself. Link your privacy policy in the agreement text, and check the rules that apply where your readers live.
The Kit addon comes with WPForms Plus and higher.
